Pirates

I POEM (Revised)

I am an owl who has extremely precise uniqueness.

I am a nocturnal hunting bird with eyes that face forward.

My beak is similar to that of a hawk.

I have a radiant circle of feathers surrounding my eyes.

I sleep during the day

and emerge at night to hunt small prey.

I rotate my intact head to change my eye-view,

which gives me a wide-eyed, attentive look to me.

In order for me to look around, I have to move my complete head,

which can almost make an inclusive circle!

I am able to see an extreme distance…even in the dark!

Nevertheless, I am incapable to see what is merely a few centimeters away.

I make a different sound than my friends, however when I sneak up on my prey,

my feathers give me an almost silent flight..

I sometimes make a sound to let other mammals know I’m here and prepared to locate my mate.

There are over 162 species just like me today in the entire world.

We are mostly found in a range from rainforests to grasslands to wooded areas to tundra.

I make this sound to let other mammals know I’m here and to find my mate.

I pretend to be well-liked by other mammals.
